There’s no doubt that Vero looks pretty similar to a lot of our platforms that are currently out. If you take a look at it, it has a unique feel with its color scheme and sleek design, but it feels like you’re navigating an alternate reality Instagram. However, this isn’t really a bad thing. Instagram has a very easy flow when you’re on it and it’s enjoyable to use. Steal like an artist wasn’t written for no reason. Vero has very plainly “borrowed” their UI in a way that works well for them. And why wouldn’t they do this? They are targeting a very similar audience as Instagram. They want to make the switch a lot easier for their hopeful new users. Any roadblock and downside to using Vero will make users much less likely to switch over, more so than they already are.

Taking a look at the home page here, it looks almost exactly like a re-skinned Instagram. It has a search icon, a home page icon, and a message icon in the top right. The feed is also very similar. You have your picture front and center with the user in the top left of the picture. There is a heart under the picture to show the amount of likes of the picture and a comment box with a number showing the amount of comments the picture has.

This page is the content creation page. From here, you can select what you’d like to share. Check out Versus Vero to see a break down of what all you can share on Vero and why it’s different.

Here, you can see the options of sharing. This is one of Vero’s UVPs. It allows you to share what you want with who you want, instead of blasting it out to the world. If you check out the article “Truth in who it Targets” listed above, you can see why the audience they target might be keen on this aspect.

Above, you can see something else different about Vero’s interface. Instagram has an explore feature, but it throws everything at your face. It isn’t broken down like it is as above. This helps de-clutter and organize posts, giving Vero an even easier interface and user experience. This is great for the audience it targets. Gen Z is so tech savvy, that any roadblock, like I said, will make their experience an unpleasant one. They’ll hop ship at the drop of a hat.
